Quick Answer
Standard Users can be added to Pinnacle Series individually through the Add User modal, in bulk through the Import Users from Spreadsheet wizard, or automatically through Active Directory sync - all from the Standard Users page in the Admin Portal.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for administrators who need to add one or more Standard Users to their Pinnacle Series tenant, or who need to edit an existing Standard User's details and permissions.
Add a Single User
- In the Admin Portal, select Users, then select Standard Users.
- Select the Add User icon in the top right of the page.
- From the menu, select Add User.
- In the Add User Manually window, enter the user's Full Name and Email.
- Select Add User to save.
Confirm the new user now appears in the Standard Users list.
Add Multiple Users by Spreadsheet Import
- In the Admin Portal, select Users, then select Standard Users.
- Select the Add User icon in the top right of the page.
- From the menu, select Import Users from Spreadsheet.
- In the Import Standard Users from Spreadsheet window, drag and drop the spreadsheet file, or select Browse Files to choose it.
Confirm the imported users now appear in the Standard Users list.
A third option, Sync with Active Directory, is also available from this menu for tenants configured to provision Standard Users through Active Directory sync. Configuring Active Directory sync is outside the scope of this article.
Edit an Existing User's Details and Permissions
- In the Admin Portal, select Users, then select Standard Users.
- Select the user from the Standard Users list.
- On the User Details page, select Edit Profile.
- On the Edit User Details page, update the required fields under Personal Information (Full Name, Email, Location, Title).
- Under Permissions, use the Inherit Permissions toggle to control whether this user's permissions come from their assigned Groups or are set individually on this page.
- If setting permissions individually, select the required permission(s) (for example, Assignment Administrator, Assignor, Content Administrator, Content Publisher, Content Author, Administrator, Reporting Administrator, Reporting Manager, View Sensitive Information, Technical Support Disabled, or Manage Portal Branding and Customization).
- Select Save Changes.
Confirm the updated details and permissions now appear on the user's User Details page.
The Edit User Details page also includes the following user-level settings: Exclude User from SSO, Exclude User from Active Directory Sync, Exclude User from Synchronized Groups, and User Must Change Password at Next Sign-in.
When to Contact Support Instead
If your tenant has an active Administrator, we recommend using the steps above rather than contacting Support, since they let you add or edit a user immediately. If no user in your tenant currently holds the Administrator permission, Support can add a user to a specific tenant (for example, Tenant A) manually on your behalf - provide the user's name and the target tenant when you log the request.
Helpful Tips
- Only one spreadsheet file can be uploaded per import - if you have users to add from more than one file, import them one file at a time.
