Quick Answer
If a user assigned to a Group with Administration Portal access still can't access the Administration Portal, check whether the Inherit Permissions setting is disabled for that user's account - but confirm the assigned Group actually holds Administration Portal permission first, since re-enabling inheritance only helps if the Group itself carries that access.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Pinnacle Series Administrators whose user is assigned to a Group with Administration Portal access, but is still unable to access the Administration Portal.
Symptoms
A user cannot access the Pinnacle Series Administration Portal, despite being assigned to a Group that includes Administration Portal permissions.
Cause
This can occur when the Inherit Permissions setting is disabled for the user's account. When this setting is disabled, the user's own per-user permissions apply instead of the permissions assigned to their Group, so the user does not receive the Group's Administration Portal access even though they are a member of that Group.
Resolution
- Confirm that at least one of the user's assigned Groups actually holds Administration Portal permission. If no assigned Group has this permission, enabling Inherit Permissions will not grant access — the Group's permissions must be corrected, or the user reassigned to a Group that has the required permission, before continuing.
- Open the affected user's account settings.
- Enable the Inherit Permissions setting for the user.
Confirm the user can now access the Pinnacle Series Administration Portal.
