Common Causes/Issues:

• You would like to periodically automatically collect the KnowledgeSmart consolidated data export and place it in an internal folder.

Solution Overview:

• We have created a series of automated processes and API calls, which can simplify and speed up the exchange of key data across platforms, for example, HR systems, LMS systems, and E-Learning platforms.
• The KnowledgeSmart API guidelines have a dedicated area for data export.
• Use the relevant API key to collect your Skills assessment, general Survey, or Skills audit data and save it to an internal folder.
• If the data will be a data source for a business intelligence dashboard inside Power BI or Tableau for example, you can then schedule periodic refreshes of data.

Tactical Rundown:

• See below for a help sheet about the KnowledgeSmart API. This can also be downloaded from within the Help menu of the platform.
• You can access your KnowledgeSmart account API key from within the Accounts > Your Accounts menu.
  • Select the 'Show' link to the right of your account name.
    
    

• To view the API calls for data export you will need to go to the following site:
  https://online.knowledgesmart.net/api_dev/swagger/ui/index
  
  
• Look for the data export area and select the show/hide link to the right.
  
  

• You will notice API calls for Skills assessments, Surveys, and Skill audits. Look out for a description below each API call to make sure you choose the correct one.
