Quick Answer
Pinnacle Series does not currently support linking directly to a specific step within a Workflow, or editing a snapshot directly within a Workflow; both can be achieved with workarounds - referencing a Pinnacle document for step linking, and using an external tool to edit snapshot images before pasting them into the Workflow.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Pinnacle Series users who want to link directly to a specific step within a Workflow, or edit a snapshot image within a Workflow, and need a workaround for these unsupported features.
Linking to a Specific Step Within a Workflow
Pinnacle Series does not currently support a tool link that directs users to another step within the same Workflow. As a workaround, you can reference the information using a Pinnacle document instead:
- Create a Pinnacle document containing the same information as the step you want to reference.
- Add a tool link in your Workflow to display this document.
Confirm that selecting the link displays the document in the Workflow viewer, and that users can close it to continue to the next step.
Editing a Snapshot Within a Workflow
Pinnacle Series does not currently support editing a snapshot directly within a Workflow using the built-in snapshot tool. As a workaround, you can edit the image externally before adding it:
- Use an external screen capture or image editing tool (such as SnagIt, Snipping Tool, or ShareX) to capture and edit the image.
- Copy the edited image and paste it directly into the Workflow step.
- Use the on-screen toggles to resize the image as needed.
Confirm the edited image appears correctly sized within the Workflow step.
