This article is for Pinnacle Series Administrators who receive an error when trying to delete or archive a document from the Content area.
Symptoms
An error message appears when attempting to delete or archive a document from the Content area.
Cause
This occurs when the document is still referenced in other areas of Pinnacle Series, such as active Learning Paths or Courses. You can see where, and how many times, a document is referenced by checking its Details tab.
Resolution
- Open the Details tab of the document you want to delete or archive.
- Note each Learning Path or Course listed as referencing the document.
- Open the first referenced Learning Path or Course.
- Remove or disassociate the document from it.
- Repeat the previous two steps for each remaining reference.
Once the document is no longer referenced anywhere in Pinnacle Series, return to the Content area and confirm you can delete or archive it successfully.
