What This Article Helps With
This article is for Pinnacle Series Administrators with common questions about how content templates apply to content, how to add custom branding to a template, and whether templates can be used across different content types.
Common Questions
Do new content templates automatically apply to existing custom content?
No. Creating a new content template does not automatically update existing custom content. The content template only applies to new content created going forward.
Can a content template be applied retroactively to existing content?
No. A content template cannot be applied retroactively because the template is selected at the time the content is initially created. To update existing content with a different template, copy the existing content and paste it into a newly created content item that uses the desired template.
Can I add custom branding, such as a company logo or colored header bar, to a content template?
Yes. Branding and aesthetic requests, such as a logo with a continuous colored bar across the top, can be achieved using HTML and CSS code. Add or edit this code by selecting the Source Code button in the document tools.
Can content templates be used consistently across different content types, such as documents, videos, quizzes, and Learning Paths?
Yes. Content templates can be used across all content types. The content template is applied within the Description field of the content. When creating or editing a content template, you can select exactly which content types that template applies to.
