Quick Answer
Pinnacle Series does not currently support dynamic watermarking on video content, such as displaying the viewer's name during playback; static watermarking and access-control alternatives can be used instead to protect sensitive content.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Pinnacle Series Administrators who want to know whether dynamic watermarking is available for video content, and what alternatives exist for protecting sensitive, project-specific training content.
Dynamic Watermarking Is Not Currently Supported
Pinnacle Series does not currently support dynamic watermarking of video content — for example, displaying the authenticated viewer's name or other user-specific information during playback.
Alternatives for Protecting Sensitive Video Content
The following approaches can help secure sensitive, project-specific training content in place of dynamic watermarking:
- Add a static watermark during video editing, or include a dedicated landing screen before the video starts.
- Use a distinct video thumbnail (such as one with a locked symbol) to indicate that the content is sensitive and should not be shared.
- Add a keyword to the video metadata to flag its sensitive nature.
- Isolate the content under a specific sub-topic as an added layer of security.
- Add the content to a dedicated Library in the Peak experience and manage the audience with a dedicated Group.
- Assign a Group Owner to the project Group with Reporting Manager permissions to monitor interactions with the content.
