Quick Answer
To update a SCORM Course in Pinnacle Series without losing learner progress or completions, select Upload New Package on the SCORM item in the existing Course, which keeps the same course object ID and learning history.
What This Article Helps With
This article explains how to replace the SCORM package in an existing Pinnacle Series SCORM Course. Replacing the package updates the content while learner progress and completions stay with the Course. Deleting the Course and importing the package again would split learning history.
SCORM Package Requirements
- The new SCORM package must be a .zip file.
- Accepted SCORM package types are SCORM 1.1, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 Second Edition and SCORM 2004 Third Edition.
How to Replace a SCORM Package
- Select Content in the left-hand navigation.
- Open the SCORM Course you want to update.
- In the Course Content section, select Upload New Package on the SCORM item.
- In the Upload SCORM File window, drag the new .zip package into the upload area, or select Browse Files and choose the .zip package.
- Select Save & Publish.
- Open the SCORM Course and confirm that the updated content plays.
- Open Reports and confirm that existing learner progress and completions still appear for the SCORM Course.
Helpful Tips
- Keep the Course title the same for in-place updates, so learners and administrators can still find the Course by its familiar name.
- Track the version in the SCORM package file name, for example Revit-Fundamentals_v2.3_2026-10.zip.
- You can also record each update in the Revision field on the Course Overview tab.
