Quick Answer
Deleting a Library in Pinnacle Series sends it to the Recycle Bin rather than permanently removing it. A recycled Library disappears from Libraries tabs and users lose access to any content that lived only in that Library, but restoring the Library from the Recycle Bin fully restores both the tab listing and user access.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Admins who want to understand what happens when a Library is deleted, how to move a Library to the Recycle Bin, and how to restore one afterward.
Move a Library to the Recycle Bin
- Open Libraries.
- Locate the Library you want to delete.
- Select the options menu (the three-dot icon) on the Library card.
- Select Delete Library.
-
In the Delete Library confirmation window, select Delete to confirm.
Confirm the Library no longer appears on the Libraries page.
What Happens When a Library Is Recycled
Deleting a Library does not permanently remove it - the confirmation window itself states that the Library is sent to the Recycle Bin, the same soft-delete location used for other recycled content. Once a Library is recycled:
- The Library disappears from the Libraries tab everywhere it was listed, including a project's Libraries tab.
- Users lose access to any content that lived only in that Library.
The Library is not permanently deleted until it is removed from the Recycle Bin.
Restoring a Recycled Library
Restoring a recycled Library fully reverses both effects described above: it reappears on the Libraries tabs it was listed on, and users regain access to its content. Content Administrators and Content Publishers can restore a Library from the Recycle Bin - see How to Restore Deleted Content from the Recycle Bin for the restore procedure.
Helpful Tips
- The same options menu also offers Duplicate Library, which creates a separate, independent copy of the Library rather than restoring or recovering one - don't confuse it with the Recycle Bin restore process.
- If content appears to be missing after a Library was recently deleted, check the Recycle Bin before assuming the content itself was lost.
