Quick Answer
Deleted content can be restored from the Recycle Bin (Content Tools Recycle Bin) by selecting the Restore icon next to the item - Content Administrators and Content Publishers can restore content this way, while Content Authors can delete content at draft but cannot restore it from the Recycle Bin.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Content Administrators and Content Publishers who need to restore deleted content from the Recycle Bin, or who want to understand who is able to restore content versus who can only delete it.
Restore Content from the Recycle Bin
- Open Content.
- Select Tools.
- Select Recycle Bin.
- Locate the content you want to restore.
- Select the Restore icon next to the content.
Confirm the content no longer appears in the Recycle Bin, and locate it in Content to confirm it has been restored.
Permanently Deleting Content from the Recycle Bin
Alongside the Restore icon, each item in the Recycle Bin also has a second icon for permanently deleting it. Permanently deleting content from the Recycle Bin removes it entirely and cannot be undone - confirm you no longer need the content before using this option.
Who Can Restore Content
Content Administrators and Content Publishers have the ability to restore content from the Recycle Bin. Content Authors have the ability to delete content while it is still in draft, but do not have the ability to restore content from the Recycle Bin. If you need content restored and do not hold the Content Administrator or Content Publisher permission, ask an administrator or publisher to restore it on your behalf.
