Quick Answer
A certificate for a Learning Path is generated only after the entire Learning Path is completed, not after completing an individual course within it; whether that additionally requires completing every module in a specific sequence depends on how the content admin configured the Learning Path's completion criteria.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Pinnacle Series Administrators whose user completed a course within a Learning Path but did not receive a certificate.
Symptoms
A user completes a single course or module within a Learning Path, but no certificate becomes available for download.
Cause
Pinnacle Series generates a Learning Path certificate only after the entire Learning Path has been completed - not after completing an individual course or subtopic within it. All required modules and activities within the Learning Path must be completed before the certificate becomes available. Whether the Learning Path also requires modules to be completed in a specific sequence, or enforces other criteria such as full video playback or a passing quiz score, depends on how the Learning Path's completion criteria were configured by the content admin. These are configurable settings, not fixed platform behavior, so requirements can differ between Learning Paths.
Resolution
- Confirm whether the user has completed every module and required activity in the Learning Path, not just a single course within it.
- Check the Learning Path's configured completion criteria with the content admin who set it up, to confirm whether a specific completion order or other requirements apply.
- Have the user complete any remaining required modules or activities in the Learning Path.
Confirm the Learning Path shows as fully complete for the user, and that the certificate is now available for download.
