Quick Answer
Users receive duplicate courses with "RETIRED" in the title when a Training Template has diverged from the current production default; restoring the template to default and removing the duplicate assignments resolves it.
What This Article Helps With
This article is for Pinnacle Series Administrators whose users are assigned duplicate courses with "RETIRED" in the title, alongside their actual course content.
Symptoms
Users are assigned duplicate courses with "RETIRED" in the title, alongside their actual course content.
Cause
This occurs when a Training Template in the tenant has diverged from the current production default. A deviated template can be identified by the word "Default" being missing from the beginning of the Training Template title.
Resolution
- Navigate to Admin Portal > Content > Tools > KnowledgeSmart Mapping.
- Review your Training Templates.
- Check whether the word "Default" is missing from the front of each Training Template title. Its absence indicates the template has diverged from the standard production template.
- Select the affected Training Template.
- Select restore-to-default to realign the template with the production default.
- Manually remove the duplicate "RETIRED" assignments from the affected users' profiles.
Confirm the affected users' course assignments no longer include a duplicate "RETIRED" entry.
Helpful Tips
- Custom Training Templates for consolidated Assessments are expected and do not need to be restored to default. It's only the standard out-of-the-box templates that should remain aligned with the defaults, to ensure proper functional behavior and content structure.
