Common Causes/Issues:
- You would like to learn the difference between a hyperlink and tool link.
- You would like to learn how to embed a link within the context of your asset descriptions.
- You would like to learn how to create a tool link that is associated to a file or document.
Solution Overview:
- Start by giving your tool link a name.
- Select the 'Open File' from the drop down list under 'Type'
- Browse to the file or document that you want to link to, then decide if you want to copy the file to Pinnacle Cloud Storage, or link to the document from its current location.
- Pinnacle Cloud storage is free, unlimited, and provides greater accessibility for the users in your company.
- Select the 'test' button to test that the tool link is working as expected.
- Select Apply.
- Click OK to save your changes.
- Once you have added tools to your asset, you can insert the tool into the context of the description.
- Use the Hammer or type your tool name into the description and Pinnacle Series will resolve it after Refreshing.
- Click OK to save your changes.
- In the Pinnacle Series portal, when a link is clicked, the associated tool will fire-up.
