Applies To:
- Administrators
- Users with Elevated Permissions
Common Causes/Issues:
- You would like to have a better understanding of the new permissions that affect external learning tracking
- Learn more about the assignment administrator and assignor permissions
Solution Overview:
-
The new external learning tracking permissions will span across learning in many areas within the platform, and so we are more broadly approaching them from an overall perspective around the submission, tracking, approval, and visibility of learning.
-
These permissions are being created to help organizations limit the setup and configuration areas for learning in general. This allows you to ensure that only those with the appropriate permissions can set up things like external learning, tracking records, and the attributes associated.
-
Additionally, this will allow you to leverage the organizational structure you have configured in your administration area - so leaning into the ability for your teams to create groups and for those groups to have child groups and owners for these permissions.
Tactical Rundown:
Assignment Admin
This permission has visibility to all learning globally across your Pinnacle Series platform. This also allows this user to set up the external learning tracking area, allowing them to create external learning tracking activities and the attributes associated with them. This permission also allows users to approve or deny external learning tracking for any user. As we move into the assignments project in the future, we will continue the conversation around this role and the global aspects.
Assignor
This is a secondary permission. This permission allows organizations to establish single users who may only see learning for those users for whom they are the manager or users that are a part of the groups that the assignor is the owner of, or child groups that the Assignor is an owner of. This permission also allows the user to approve or deny learning for those individuals for whom again, they are the manager of, or are part of the group or child groups that they are the owner of. This permission also lays the foundation for additional permissions we will add later on.
