Common Causes/Issues:

You can't access the Pinnacle Series Management Utility or parts thereof.

You can't access the Pinnacle Admin Browser as the link is not visible.

You can't create or administer workgroups.

Pinnacle Series platform permissions give you access to various settings, customizations, and reporting. The majority of these privileges require the installation of the Pinnacle Series Management Utility, whilst others only apply to the Web Portal. This document outlines the different platform permissions and capabilities that these permissions allow.

The standard platform permissions are listed below, along with the Management Utility applications, and the associated permissions. Only the Pinnacle Users who have these permissions assigned can access the respective applications. All platform permissions are managed in the Administrator Utility.

The user will inherit permissions included in the user group that they have been included in.
Tactical Rundown:
Administer Users
- Ability to manage and organize users in Pinnacle Series.
- As an Administrator you can:
- Add and Manage Platform Users (Manual and/or Active Directory Sync)
- Enable Single Sign-on
- Assign Users to Groups
- Assign Platform Permissions
- Assign Product Expertise
- Enable KnowledgeSmart Integration
- Enable/Disable Email Notifications
- Allow visibility of Software Downloads (Management Utility and User Tools)
- Add and Manage Platform Users (Manual and/or Active Directory Sync)
Manage Content

Ability to author and manage your organization's custom content.

As a Content Manager, you have access to Manage Content and all of the tools therein, including:

Create and manage Custom Content (Workflows, Documents, Videos, Live Events, and Learning Paths/Courses)

Assign Products and Versions to Custom Content

Manage Asset Libraries

Set Visibility for Public and Custom Content

Customize Content Templates
-
Customize Company Certificate
-
View Content Suggestions

View Content Changes
-
Manage Portal Branding and Customization
- Ability to access Branding & Customization area of platform.
- Ability to customize platform’s logo, colors, and theme.
- Ability to alter the platform’s layout.
View Reports

Ability to view usage reports across the entire platform.

Usage Reports are accessed from View Reports in the Management Utility, and include the following reports:

Unique User Sign-ins

Resources Accessed/Used

Top Searches

Most Accessed Content

Top Content Contributors

Custom Content Added

View Sensitive Information

Ability to view user or group attributes that have been marked as Sensitive data.
Assign Learning/View Learning Reports

Ability to assign learning and view learning reports for users who have been assigned learning.

Learning can be assigned from the Enroll Users dialog in the Management Utility, or in the Web Portal as a member of a Work Group.

Ability for users to access all Work Groups created (including archived) in Work Center regardless of Work Group membership.

Ability to restore archived Work Groups.
Create Work Groups

Ability for users to create a Work Group within the Work Center area.
Invite External Users into Work Groups

Ability for users to invite external users into a Work Group(s).

Members of Work Groups who have this permission will have the option to Invite External Members to the Work Group, regardless of the member's Group Role.
Technical Support Disabled

This permission restricts users from using Eagle Point Software support.
-
Users with this permission enabled will not be able to use the Support button in the Web Portal to access Eagle Point Software's technical support team.
