Whether you are performing a global search or searching within a specific library, this tool helps refine your results with precision, saving time and reducing overwhelm. By using filters such as publisher, content type, duration, and difficulty, you can access exactly what you need, faster.

 

Steps to Use the Interactive Filter Panel

For Global Search

Follow these steps to use the filter panel during a global search:

  • Perform a Global Search: Enter a keyword or phrase in the Global Search bar at the top-right of the homepage. For example, type "Inventor visibility settings" for an exact match. Use quotation marks for precise results, + directly before words you want to emphasize, or - directly before words you want to exclude from the search.
  • Apply Filters: Use the filter panel on the left-hand side to refine your search. You can:
    • Filter by content type such as videos, workflows, or learning paths.
  • Select specific publishers or versions (e.g., Inventor 2025) within the topics/sub-topics filter.
  • Use the difficulty filter to find content suitable for your skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).
  • Add a duration filter to focus on shorter or more detailed resources.
  • Use the keyword search to narrow down results for a more targeted focus.
  • Review Filtered Results: The results will dynamically update based on your selected filters, showing the most relevant content at the top.

 


 

For Library Search

The filter panel is equally powerful when searching within a specific library:

  • Access the Library: Navigate to the library you wish to search (e.g., "Autodesk Construction Cloud Library").
  • Apply Filters: Just like with global search, you can use filters to narrow down results:
    • Search by topic or subtopic for more targeted results.
    • Limit results to specific content types, such as workflows or checklists.
    • Combine filters (e.g., content type + difficulty) for greater precision.
  • Instant Updates: As you modify filters, the results update dynamically, helping you quickly locate the content you need.
Tip: Encourage users to combine filters for maximum efficiency. For example, pairing "content type" with "difficulty" ensures highly relevant results that match both format and expertise.
