Common Causes/Issues:
- You would like to learn more about CADLearning SCORM integration with the goal to surface CADLearning content on your platform.
Solution Overview:
- We use the packaging code provided by the people who created and manage the SCORM standard, Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative (ADL).
- CADLearning uses your Single Sign On (SSO) system to verify entitlements and serve lessons. As a result, SSO is a requirement of SCORM integration for security purposes.
Detailed CADLearning SCORM Flow
- Because of the nature of SCORM, you will have access to a snapshot of the Course, Topic, and Lesson structure without supporting materials integrated into your LMS.
- We have provided tools for you to subscribe to feeds for content that has changed to allow you to be notified when you should update your SCORM package imports within your LMS.
Subscribe to RSS Feed
Follow the steps below to subscribe to feeds in Outlook:
- In CADLearning, select the product from the library.
- Click Subscribe to Changes.
- Copy the URL from the address bar.
- Open Outlook.
- Click File > Options > Advanced.
- Scroll down to RSS Feeds.
- Check both boxes and click OK.
- Find the RSS Subscriptions folder.
- Right-click the folder and select Add a new RSS Feed...
- Paste in the URL previously copied.
- Click Add.

Before you get started, it is important that we have the following information to ensure a successful SCORM integration because of the highly variable quality of LMS implementations of SCORM.
- What LMS are you using?
- What is the LMS expecting in the SCORM package?
- Provide test environment credentials within the LMS.
- Provide documentation for your LMS.
- Provide xAPI credentials.
- Ensure that you have a technical contact with your LMS provider available in case any problems arise so we can quickly work with them to adapt the SCORM package to their requirements.
Once the information above is provided, CADLearning will provide your organization with the option to download a SCORM packet for any course. To download the SCORM packet, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to your CADLearning portal.
- Click the Library tab.
- Select the product and version you want the SCORM packet for.
- Click the Download SCORM LMS Package button.
